What had only been a mere thought in his mind for most of his life, Marco who grew up in Italy and attended culinary school has enjoyed cooking his whole life. Whether in the kitchen or with his grandfather making wines, Marco is a natural born talent in the kitchen and no matter what he makes, everyone is always asking for more. Marco moved to the United States about 20 years ago and he never stopped dreaming of owning his own restaurant. Though Italian cooking is his native way, he remembers that the freshest way and most delicious way to any home cooked meal is found in using fresh ingredients. While living for few months in the caribbean and traveling the world, he remembers the flavorful foods and spices he discovered in his journey. In 2006, after many years of designing commercial kitchens, Marco decided to try his hand at making homemade Hot Sauce from peppers and vegetables that he grew in his backyard. It wasn’t long after Marco, with his wife Robin as Marketing Director, started the production of the Mild and Hot sauce under the Marco's Not Yet Famous branding, and in a few short weeks they were sold to a few local stores. After a few months, came a line of salsas. These salsas and sauces were featured in many newspapers around the Maryland area and Marco won 2 Scovie Awards for his Roasted Vegetable and Corn and Black Beans salsa. All this was a way for Marco and Robin to take a small step into the direction of the food business. In the meanwhile Marco was working with Robin on creating 12 new wing sauces and 4 BBQ sauces for the big project to come. After a year Marco and Robin purchased a small sandwich shop in the South Pointe Shopping Center on Oak Ridge Drive in Hagerstown, MD. With a few construction modifications, the addition of cooking equipment and the completion of all the wing and barbeque sauces, they were now ready to start creating delicious wings, fall off the bone ribs and mouth watering sandwiches for all to enjoy. On January 2, 2007 Marco and Robin aka MR. D's opened it’s doors in Hagerstown, MD just one mile from the Prime Outlets in Hagerstown (see directions from the "Location" Link). After only a few months in business MR.D's had received outstanding reviews from the Herald Mail, the Journal of West Virginia, the Washington Post and the Washington County Magazine (see "in the news" link). The word is spreading and we invite you and your family to come in and see what we’re all about. MR.D's Wings, Ribs & Sandwiches began with a very simple idea:
